Getting there … royal free ?
« on: June 28, 2021, 03:08:05 pm »
Hi, my husband has cardiac amyloidosis, he had a video call today with Dr. Whelan, so far, because of covid, all his tests have been done locally.
Dr WHELAN now wants him to come to the Royal Free for his next lot of tests. He forgot to ask about transport, we live in Eastbourne, so I’m guessing it will be an overnight stay?
Can anyone tell us who to contact, or will it all be sorted when he gets the appointment?
I don’t think we can do it in one day from here?
Any advice please? Will I be able to come with him? I am his registered Carer.

Hi Marjorie,

I've asked Rizwan, the NAC appointments manager, to answer your questions, and copied you on the email. Please send him your husband's name and date of birth.

For general information about logistics of travel to the NAC including advice on getting cheap train tickets see here- https://www.ucl.ac.uk/amyloidosis/national-amyloidosis-centre/information-patients
