Travel insurance. Advice please.
« on: September 27, 2017, 03:57:12 pm »
Hi Folks,

This message is on behalf of a friend and member of our NAC forum. She is having technical difficulties and is unable to log in to the forum.

Please can anyone advise me? I am trying to book a holiday in Spain for my husband and me but have been quoted unresonable prices for travel insurance.  My husband has AL amyloidosis and Multiple Myeloma. He is taking maintenance chemotherapy with Revmilid. Please can anyone advise me with the contact details of a reasonably priced travel insurance company?

Thank-you in anticipation.  :)
Pat

Hi Pat,

Your friend could try taking a look at answers to a similar question that was asked on the forum a while ago - see http://amyloidosis.org.uk/forum/index.php?topic=86.0

also, please tell them to contact me about forum login problems and I'll try to help.

Thanks Miriam.
I have suggested she contacts you for help to access the forum.

I remembered these conversations about travel insurance and tried trawling back but just couldn't find them. Anyway will copy and paste them for her.

After being refused by our bank insurer we tried World First and they actually had Cardiac Amyloidosis on their drop down box which was a welcome start. The helpfullness and understanding of their staff was amazing and we were covered for our weeks holiday in Portugal a few weeks ago for a very reasonable amount.

That's a good travel insurance contact to know about. Here's their web address in case it's helpful for others in the future: https://www.world-first.co.uk - or you can just Google "World-First Travel Insurance"!

My friend is having the same thing and she still doesn't know how to solve it! :-\
Actually he needs this insurance, he is having big troubles with his health and he is always spending time searching for  rx coupons as he is having finance troubles too. I really want to help him!
