Bone Marrow/ Small Bowel
« on: July 04, 2022, 07:39:03 pm »
Good Evening,
First post here! My Father has been displaying symptoms of being unwell since late last year mainly inconsistent bowel movements/losing weight etc after several investigations we informed that he had amyloidosis presenting in the small bowel however bone marrow biopsy has returned a result of no significance/ Re negative. My question does he still have amyloidosis is this unusual or normal? Meeting with consultant next week .He is75 fatigued, swollen ankles etc any thoughts? Thank you Lois

Hi Lois,
I'm sorry to hear about your father's illness.

I recommend that you ask his doctors to refer him to the National Amyloidosis Centre so he can undergo a full investigation for amyloidosis.
Good luck.
